The Facility Engineering Department at HORIBA-MIRA facilitates the development and improvement of state of the art technical facilites for testing and engineering of automotive platforms. We resource and manage projects with a broad range up to multi million pound capital projects, we also provide consultancy and design for external customers bothin the UK and abroad.
The main purpose of this role is to be the focal point for Civil Engineering design and management within a small team, manage contractors and contracts and provide quality assurance to projects.
Please note; this fixed term contract is for up to 12 months.
10+ years site experience either working for a main contractor or principal designer.
Design of roads and earthworks.
Design of test tracks or proving grounds (preferable).
General construction including buildings, foundations and drainage (preferable).
Interpreting client requirments and formulation plans and deliverables.
AutoCAD Civils 3D, able to produce and develop detailed design models.
AutoCAD, able to produce and develop detailed design drawings.
Design and calculations for roads and earthworks.
Working Knowledge of NEC contracts and the contracting process.
Good interpersonal skills.
Good commmunication skills in both verbal and written formats.
Proficient with MS products including MS Project.
BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering, MSc Civil Engineering(preferable).
Project management qulaficiation (APM PMQ, PRINCE2 or similar)
H&S Qualification such as IOSH, NEBOSH general and construction (preferable)
CDM Regulation Awareness.
This role requires a confident and adaptable individual with good technical knowledge, must be a self starter and able to work autonomously and within a small team.
